Privacy policy

Information Hale handles

• Account information. Google sign-in provides a verified email address and may provide a name. Hale uses this information to authenticate the account and keep each account separate. Dedicated App Review credentials open only a fixed test account.
• Information you add. This can include profile details, goals, health documents and images, results and findings selected from those documents, chats, memories, notes, training programs, gyms, and food information.
• Apple Health. If you grant access, the iPhone app reads the categories shown in Apple's permission screen. It sends selected daily summaries and workouts to your Hale account.
• Audio and speech. Message dictation uses Apple Speech Recognition to create an editable draft. Depending on the device and language, Apple may process the audio on its servers. Live voice uses OpenAI. Other voice transcription and spoken playback can use xAI when those features are available.
• Technical information. Hale processes session cookies, request metadata, and limited device and sync information to operate and protect the service.

How Hale uses information

Hale uses this information to provide the private record, read uploaded documents, answer questions, support voice features, sync Apple Health, save items you request, and control access. Dictated text remains an editable draft until you tap Send.

Hale does not sell personal or health information. Hale does not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Services that process information

Hale runs on Vercel and uses its configured storage services. Depending on the selected feature and configured model, relevant prompts, conversation context, tool results, images, uploaded documents, or audio can be processed by OpenAI, xAI, Anthropic, Google, or Vercel AI Gateway. Google also processes Google sign-in. Apple processes Speech Recognition as described above.

If you turn on Research, the selected AI provider can search the web. Hale directs the assistant to use generic searches without your name, dates, or health values.

Storage and deletion

Hale separates saved information by account and keeps it available across sessions. A signed-in session expires after eight hours. The iPhone app stores its current session in the device Keychain.

Hale provides controls to delete individual uploads, conversations, notes, programs, and other saved items. Deleting an upload removes its file and its contributions to the record. Disconnecting Apple Health deletes the Apple Health information stored in Hale and does not delete information from Apple Health itself.

Hale does not currently provide one automated control that deletes every account category at once. To ask about your information or request access, correction, or deletion, email louishenrifranc@gmail.com.

Your choices

You can decline Apple Health, microphone, Speech Recognition, camera, and photo access. The related features will not work without that access. You can edit dictated text before sending it, remove information with the controls Hale provides, disconnect Apple Health, or sign out.

Security

Hale uses signed, expiring sessions and account-scoped storage. The iPhone app stores its session in the device Keychain. No system can guarantee absolute security.
